Met the most friendly customer service person at the barriers "Michael " was helpful explained to me my options of travel. As I was waiting for 30 mins he pointed a coffee shop out to me. This is my first time to Cardiff and a friendly and warm service just makes one feel welcome. Thanks Michael!!
Platform 8: Hi (hand full of nearly finished chip tray), I'm looking for a bin... Yeah there's one out there. Oh right, I thought that was just mixed recyclables? No mate, it says that on the bin, but you can put anything in there. LITERALLY WHAT IS THE FECKING POINT OF ANYONE TRYING TO DO ANYTHING FOR THIS GODFORSAKEN PLANET WHEN FECKWITS LIKE THIS HAVE ANY SAY IN THE MATTER?
My favourite station- it is an ideal location to board trains going to many destinations at various times and days. Also perfect place at which to arrive in Cardiff by train. Really does seem to satisfy the needs of train travelers.
I dont travel by train much these days (its actually cheaper and more convenient to drive anywhere - except central London) but Cardiff is still a better station than most.However, whilst the addition of technology has made getting in and out quicker for commuters it can be a lot more complicated for visitors or occasional travellers. Plus the poor, unreliable, expensive train services which stop here negate any benefits gained in the station.
Experience here wasn't too bad. The station has a decent amount of seating and shelter on all of the platforms as well as step free access via lifts. Expect overcrowding during the peak hours and on any train originating from Shrewsbury.
