Beautiful venue, pleasant waiters and chef. Food was so delicious we managed starter main and desert. DEEEElicious.... we WILL be back. This was last night we tried the Potted Pig tonight and wish we would have come back here ended up with room service in our hotel. We were really looked after at the Chapel!
Disappointing Birthday CelebrationWe arrived for my husbands birthday meal with 15 minutes to spare. There had been a large party before us and all the areas reflected this including the ladies toilet with wet toilet paper everywhere. We were told our table was not ready and were asked if we would like to go to the bar and order a drink. We stood there for a good 10 minutes but were totally ignored.We then tried to go to our table again this time successfully. It was very drafty as the windows were open.The food was alright but pricey for what we had. Such a shame as it is a beautiful venue.
Nice place with lots of choice at the bar. There seemed to be an odd Argos style collection point for cocktails going on. It's probably to speed up how quickly you get served, but it didn't really work for us. Took 15 minutes to get served despite there being lots of staff behind the bar and not that much of a queue.
I would highly recommend this restaurant. The food is absolutely amazing. If you are a really big eater you may not like the size of the starters but the main course is when you will get your fill. The venison that I ordered was the best I have ever tasted and I always order it if it's on a menu. My recommendation is to have the venison pink as it just melts in your mouth. I will definitely be coming back to 1877 .
Although the food is always amazing here the service could definitely improve. We had our Christmas party here and we definitely didn't feel the Christmas vibe. There was no music or even crackers on the table. We were left on the top floor and forgotten about for most of the evening. Orders were mixed up constantly and food was served then taken away to another table. The whole experience put us off.
