A fantastic school. Moved our son for GCSEs and he has thrived in the small classes and caring environment. Highly recommended.
What an amazing place is Kings Monkton School. My Granddaughter was having a tough time at another independent school and friends recommended that we have a look at this school. A show around with the Principal followed during opening hours and as we walked around the lovely old building, without exception the pupils we saw were friendly, polite and respectful. Most classroom doors were open and we saw pupils engaged in their lessons working hard. The school promotes a nurturing environment with strong pastoral care and the 'family feel' was evident everywhere. We knew that this was going to be the right school and enrolled her. The difference to our family has been amazing. Our granddaughter is now doing well at school, has made some lovely friends and most importantly, is happy!!
Kings monkton school is one of the biggest rip offs in humanity. Everything the principle Paul norton states is a facade. The staff are unhappy and the top tear students are unhappy, the school is run as a business in the eyes of the principal Paul norton having employed his wife as assistant head and his son as a maths teacher. Furthermore he employees all his friends from other schools which are incapable to teach and have outdated teaching methods. If you want your child to be a C grade student then waste your 10,000 on Kings monkton. The staff atmosphere is down as many staff dislike the behaviour of the principal and are underpaid for there hard work. The school in general does not forefill the promises the principle gives you when he gives the tour as he promises you the world, yet nothing comes to reality. Finally proof of this is the current maths teacher in kings monkton. Over the last 2 years he has not finished the a level syllabus, he has a degree in mechanics from the university of South Wales. Yet teaches pure furthermore he has no control over the class and is unable to help students even reach the C grade as he himself can not do some aspects of the GCSE syllabus. To conclude if you are thinking of attending such a school as former students who left, as the school is run as a business trying to suck as much money out of you before you realise how bad it truly is. The sixth form numbers truly speak for itself.
My grandson is a student at Kings Monkton and has benefited enormously from the solid teaching foundation and family run ethics within the school. The staff are encouraging and supportive. I highly recommend this school which is second to none.
I was worried about how my son would cope with such a big change when we moved him to Kings Monkton, but it turned out to be the best decision we could have made. He settled in so quickly and academically he's come on in leaps and bounds. Staff go above and beyond to support students and meet needs of the individual. Fantastic school, we couldn't be happier.
