Lovely site, well maintained pitches with plenty of taps!!Clean, warm toilets with hot showers.Very relaxed atmosphere with easy access to the city centre. We will definitely be back :)
It's a little gem in the middle of Cardiff. I was looking for cheap accommodation in Cardiff for a friend's wedding. This is the cheapest I could find. I paid just over 20 for one person for one night. For camping in general, it's quite dear. Hence, I knocked a star off. I suppose for the capital, it's cheap. It's a very convenient location to get into the city centre though I got stuck with Saturday football match traffic. It's surprisingly wooded and almost tranquil. You do hear some traffic noise. There's a cafe on site. It's a vegetarian one. I tried it for Sunday breakfast. It was good. There is a shop/reception. All the mod con on site (free WiFi, laundry, etc). It seems like a good place for cyclists (vegetarian) to stop by the cafe. Most importantly, the grass is flat and soft for tent. If it was under 20/night, it would be 5 stars.
Superb base for spending a few days in Cardiff. Staff are super helpful. Toilet block clean and tidy. Lovely walk into the city.
The cost of the pitch at this site led me to believe that the facilities would be good. Instead I found the toilet block very shabby and is in great need of upgrading. The pitch we were given was near the cafe so therefore it felt that we were pitched in a public car park. The only saving grace was the warden who went above the call of duty after hours and helped as best he could when we had a gas leak.
Camp site very convenient for a Cardiff City visit but beware the showers & toilet are far from pleasant. In dire need of MUCH updating. In this day & age I expect a modern clean warm facility when paying the sort of daily charge we were.We did not use them at all. We used our own on board shower etc. Luckily we had this option.
